Deliciously Kawaii
Deliciously Kawaii was created in just 2 days and a half during the Global Game Jam of January 2022, with a team of 5 students from Brassart Lyon: 2 Game Designers/Developers, 1 UI/UX Designer, and 2 Game Artists.

We knew we had to settle for a small scope, so we chose a hyper-casual game that could be fun with just a few mechanics and assets. It was our first time working on a mobile platform, so we had to learn quickly how to do it.
The goal of the game is to sort foods by swiping left or right on the screen with your finger, based on whether the food is salty or sweet. Foods keep spawning and advancing towards the player. Sorting them correctly earns points, which allow the player to purchase upgrades. Every 30 seconds, a giant food item appears, and the player needs to tap quickly to defeat it.

Speed is crucial, as bosses appear after a fixed amount of time, so the player must gather resources quickly. As the player progresses, some "toxic" foods will spawn that need to be swiped upwards and thrown away, or they will cause the player to lose points.
